The Headwaters Forest Landcare Partnership (HFLP) is a network of public and private partners in the Headwaters region of Virginia and neighboring states who are working together to improve green infrastructure forests in the Blue Ridge region. The partnership represents community, business, science, environmental and professional interests. We share a common concern about community vitality, economic development, clean water, carbon sequestration and other ecosystem services, as well as building regional and professional capacity to manage and sustain forest resources and services. We have worked on many fronts to promote forest landcare throughout our region and the nation. Our region contains the headwaters to the Chesapeake Bay, Albemarle Sound, and Mississippi River basins, so our forests and their management matter to more than our local partners. Leadership for the HFLP is provided by the Landcare Center.
